This is not really an ad for MC. I don't work for them, make no monies from them, etc. Just been using the program for many years. I love collecting recipes! I'm an addict.
Anyway, there is a new feature in MC15 and I was just in midst of using it (I grabbed a TNT recipe that SallyT loves best for Zucchini bread...using MC's online recipe grab feature)...and I placed it in MC's online cookbooks...the MC GROUP COOKBOOK that PamE made... The new feature is that people can make GROUP cookbooks, which reside at the online spot...but back on your own computer you hit SYNC and it puts all recipes people have added to it into each person's own computer MC Group Cookbook.
This isn't easy to explain. Sorry if I confuse folks. But as I was doing up SallyT's fav recipe and putting it into the Group Cookbook and then on my own computer sync'ing it and all other new recipes people have put into it (one press of a button) and then looked for it in my own group cookbook....it dawned on me!!! People have been talking forever, as long as MC15 has been out...about how ANY of us can make a group cookbook and share with other MC using friends and everybody input what they want to and we just sync to our own computers...and I thought: HEY WAIT! WE at CL FORUM could do the very same thing! (People would have to have PC's and MC15 though.) BUT so's not to leave our MAC friends out...we could go out of our way just a wee bit and at least send any of them that want a copy in TEXT. And if they wanted to contribute some of their recipes, we could easily format theirs and add to the group book (mentioning their name and their notes, of course).
SO, here is what I'm thinking: do any of you already have MC15? Do you have the online account that comes with it for a year, I think? IF YES, holler at me. I could make us a group cookbook, start putting our recipes that we post here at CLBB into that cookbook. I could show you how to sync it to your own cookbook on your MC. Sweeeeet!!
I figure that none of what I've said makes any sense at this minute. (It didn't to me when this new feature was mentioned...I had to give it a try to see what it was about. All I can say is that the MC Group Cookbook now has almost 3,000 recipes in it...put in by MC users. That's just one private group cookbook. We could make our own...of recipes we share here at CLBB. (And for folks who can't use it, e.g., they don't have MC or PC, we can easily use MC to create a text copy of everything and email it to em. Or put up a copy at DropBox or OneDrive and they can come get it.)
Just a thought. Myself, I am trying to get as many recipes that look great to me from here into my MC anyway. It's an act of love. I cherish the recipes you folks post and talk about. My treasures. I can't do em all... but I can save the ones that look best to me. If we all did same, we would have one HELLUVA cookbook! :)
